The Town Clerk and Deputy Town Clerk provide many support services to the Town of Platteville in addition to being the Clerk to the Mayor and Board of Trustees, Planning Commission, and Board of Adjustments.
The Town Clerk prepares agendas and official minutes of the Board, processes legislative actions of the Board including ordinances, resolutions and proclamations, and maintains the Code of Ordinances or Municipal Code of the Town.
Election
The Town Clerk administers Municipal Elections including voter registration, candidate information, campaign finance, and administration of the elections following State Statutes as defined in Title 31 of the State of Colorado Revised Statutes. The Town holds a Municipal Election to elect a Mayor and Members of the Board of Trustees on the first Tuesday of April in even numbered years.
Voter Registration
The office of the Colorado Secretary of State oversees voter registration. You can register to vote, change your address, or check your information at the Colorado Secretary of State.
Public Records
The Town Clerk facilitates the documentation and storage of all official records of the Town.
The Open Records Act allows any person who has a need to access these records to do so by completing a Town Records Request Form. Requests for a large number of records may require a fee. Contact the Town Clerk for more information or assistance with your request.

The Town Clerk's Office issues licenses and permits including:
- Business / Sales Tax / Contractor's licenses
- Liquor licenses
- Dog licenses
- Building permits
- Event permits
- Permits required for construction and infrastructure
